New Organs, Restorations, Service
New Lovallo pipe organs are carefully crafted following historical practice, sometimes including contemporary features like MIDI output. Each instrument is carefully designed with the client's needs foremost.
We research and make use of historical design concepts from the Italian Renaissance, German Baroque and 19th century American organs. Traditional methods of fabrication include natural leather and cotton felt, quality woods, period fasteners and decoration, natural glues and finishes. As a means of preserving the past and integrating it with the present, premium older materials are often refurbished and re-used, such as pipework and key coverings.
Restoration work follows the strict guidelines of the Organ Historical Society and centers on tracker (mechanical) action instruments.
Presently we are building for St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Antelope, CA a new pipe organ in Early Baroque style with period tuning, temperament, keyboard compass and pipework.
Service work focuses on tracker action organs as well. Our clients include:
